Support the Breast Cancer Alliance with Natori
October provides a dedicated space to honor survivors, support individuals undergoing treatment, and cherish the memory of loved ones we have lost. It is a time to unite, remember, and advocate for everyone whose life has been touched by breast cancer.
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Natori is partnering with Breast Cancer Alliance (BCA) to help support work that reaches far beyond awareness. Throughout October, 100% of profits from the Pretty Smooth Zip Front Pocked Mastectomy Wireless Bra will go to Breast Cancer Alliance.
It’s a partnership that brings together something Natori has always cared about - helping women feel comfortable, confident, and good in what they wear - with an organization working to improve outcomes and quality of life for those who have been affected by breast cancer.
About Breast Cancer Alliance
Breast Cancer Alliance is focused on improving survival rates and quality of life for people affected by breast cancer through prevention, early detection, treatment, and research towards a cure. Their work spans several areas, including innovative breast cancer research, breast surgical oncology fellowships, education, and screening and diagnostic services for underserved communities.
That combination is important because progress against breast cancer does not happen in just one place. Research can help advance understanding and treatment. Training can help prepare the next generation of breast surgical oncologists. Screening and diagnostic programs can help address barriers faced by underserved and underinsured communities.
BCA currently supports research through Young Investigator and Exceptional Project grants, as well as breast surgical oncology fellowships and screening and diagnostics grants. Its screening programs support services including mammograms and ultrasounds in underserved and underinsured populations in Connecticut and Westchester County, New York.
BCA has also built its work around supporting new ideas and emerging talent, nurturing the next generation. Its 2026 research grantees include investigators working on areas such as breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and survival. For Natori, supporting an organization with this broad focus creates an opportunity to contribute to work taking place at different stages of the breast cancer journey, all the way from research and early detection to education and access to care.

Why Breast Cancer Awareness Month Matters
Breast cancer impacts an extremely high number of people each year. The American Cancer Society estimates that 321,910 women in the United States will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2026.
Behind these numbers are people. Mothers, daughters, sisters, partners, friends, colleagues, families, not just a number on a page. That is part of what makes Breast Cancer Awareness Month meaningful - it creates space to talk about breast health, support people living with or beyond cancer, remember those who we have lost to breast cancer, and help direct attention and resources in the right direction.
Explore these meaningful ways to care for yourself and advocate for others throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
-
Prioritize Early Detection: Regular breast cancer screening helps detect changes at the earliest, most treatable stages, with mammography serving as the trusted standard test for most women.
-
Personalize Your Health Plan: Proactively consult with your doctor to determine the ideal screening schedule and preventive approach tailored to your personal health history and age.
-
Empower Through Awareness: Stay proactive by knowing your body, staying informed on breast health practices, and engaging in supportive conversations with health professionals.
-
Support Health Initiatives: Combine personal care with impact by choosing products designed to benefit organizations dedicated to early detection, screening access, and vital research.
The Pretty Smooth Zip Front Wireless Bra
The Pretty Smooth Zip Front Pocketed Mastectomy Wireless Bra was designed with adaptive wear and post surgery needs in mind, all while keeping the focus on comfort and an easy fit. The front zip closure can make dressing easier when reaching behind the body or managing a traditional back closure is too difficult. There is also extra security beneath the zipper where a hidden interior hook is located.

Inside the cups, discreet pockets are designed to hold prosthetic inserts or modesty pads for those who have them. The bra itself is wire free, with a side seam stabilizer intended to provide gentle support without boning. Comfort is the number one priority here, and the cups are lined with Pima cotton, while plush elastics help ensure it feels soft against your skin.
The racerback creates a smooth silhouette, and the straps are fully adjustable from the front, which makes them easier to reach.
The outer layer combines smoothing lace with full coverage stretch foam cups, which gives the bra an everyday look, rather than making it feel like it's associated with treatment or recovery from breast cancer. It’s a style that can work for anyone who wants a soft, wireless, easy to get on bra.
The Pretty Smooth is available in XS through to XL, with sizing information available through the Natori size guide, so it’s best to check this before you make a purchase. The bra is also OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified.
If you are considering a new bra after you’ve undergone surgery, timing and comfort will vary from person to person. It’s always worth checking with your care team about when a particular style is going to be most appropriate for you.
Thoughtful Gifts To Celebrate Someone You Love
A thoughtful gift does not need to have the words ‘cancer’ or ‘recovery’ on the label like many seem to think. For someone you love, something beautiful and comfortable can be a simple reminder that they are still themselves. It’s easy to lose that feeling when you’re inundated with appointments, treatment schedules, and difficult days, so a comfortable gift can help here. A soft bra, a robe, and a pyjama set can offer a little luxury without feeling clinical.

Remember though that sometimes the best addition costs nothing. Add a handwritten note, or bring them dinner, or just sit with them for a while and let them know that you are here, and you’re not going anywhere. Trust us when we say that the gesture matters as much as the gift does.
Make October Mean A Little More
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an opportunity to remember that support looks different for different people. It can take on many forms, and none are right or wrong, it just depends on what is needed at the time.
This October, Natori is proud to support Breast Cancer Alliance, with 100% of profits from The Pretty Smooth Zip Front Pocketed Mastectomy Wireless Bra. Shop the bra, share the campaign with someone who may appreciate it, or make a direct donation to BCA. It doesn’t matter how you choose to participate, but it’s one small way to turn an everyday action into support for research, screening, education, and those who have been impacted by breast cancer.
